2023 Plans

May. 19th, 2023 03:03 pm
This year, I plan to participate in Ops Week, Autobot Jazz Week, AU August, and PxJ Anniversary, and at least one Christmas-type event.

There is a longishfic I want to finish by the end of 2023. I have many other WIPs, so look out for those. I have learned not to give guarantees on independent works, considering my writing speed and schedule.
November??? Hello? Where did September go?

While I've been busy and a little bit sick, I've been picking away at whatever WIPs strike my fancy - meaning, I've started another one and added a few sentences to some others. I'd like to finish filling the PxJ Anniversary prompts I committed to before I release the last half, so those are in progress. I'll count the rest of my WIPs again later. May I be graced with finishing one.

The most recent one is a new Decepticon!Jazz AU, unrelated to Exchange. Dunno if this will ever see the light of day, so take a peek.

If there was ever a time Meister wished something wasn't his fault, this was it.

Well, technically, it's always his fault. There's always something a spy can do better, no matter the obstacle. You can give a different alibi, try a different password. If you lie to yourself and everyone else a little more convincingly, you might not fail.

So Meister can't use his fragged luck as an excuse for getting cocky and getting caught in a restricted area.

If he was an Autobot, a mistake like that would get him a few days in the brig and a stern lecture. Autobot Steeltrap already got the lecture and has a while more in this cell. The problem is Autobot Steeltrap probably won't hold up to the thorough security check someone is sure to put him through. It's such a stupid mistake, but he can't go back now and tell pre-mischief Meister to Not Do the Thing.

A caught spy is a dead spy. But Meister might not be caught yet, and isn't that a mess to figure out? If he's been made, he needs to get the frag away from this place. If he hasn't... well! It could be the start of something great! The stress will shear his bolts off one of these days.

So... according to my schedule, I was supposed to finish the PxJ anniversary prompts tomorrow. Clearly that's not going to happen! LOL. I was extremely busy last weekend and I woke up at 4 PM today.

I'm gonna finish the collection for sure, and soon. The plan is to spend some reading time writing. I know what I'm doing for 18/19... still need to figure out 25/26.
I’ve been very busy recently, and I will probably continue to be busy. I’m happy that I got a snippet for Jazz Week out in the middle of all of this. Unfortunately, the rest of my plans for writing this summer were derailed by life - sorry, AU August, catch you next year. Let’s see if September will work out.

Very slowly but surely, my WIPs are coming along. Here are some bigger projects that are more likely to get done in the near future.

There’s more in store for the To Measure A Person series, the Vampire AU. Jazz has another bit that was supposed to be for Jazz Week, if he and Barricade will cooperate, and Prowl has some baggage that’s fuel enough for his own sequel or two. Let’s just say there are not good things awaiting our resident monster hunter.

The Big Fic I’ve mentioned on Tumblr is a Decepticon!Prowl versus Jazz AU. Kind of misleading - it’s a oneshot that’s been in the works since April/May of 2020. It’s Big for me ‘cause it's the fic idea that kicked off my writing in the TF fandom and I’m very excited about it. With all the time I’ve spent daydreaming, you’d think I’ve gotten it written, but no. Maybe I’ll have to finish the prequel and maybe a sequel too, because that world is getting pretty detailed.

I found some nice ambient sounds this weekend which inspired me to rewrite the first bit of a Prowl and Starscream or Prowl/Starscream post-apocalypse-ish AU. The ending isn’t determined yet, and the fic will hopefully end up being a few chapters long.

The rest of my WIPs are mostly jazzprowl ficlets in various stages of completion. I’m very proud of all of them, and maybe I’ll find the inspiration to polish off one or two.
